If Azure isn't working for you
The public Azure status page lists only broad incidents; problems that affect your own subscriptions appear in Azure Service Health inside the portal.
- Hard-reload the page (Ctrl+Shift+R, or Cmd+Shift+R on a Mac) or restart the app.
- Sign out and back in, or try another browser or the mobile app.
- Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, and turn off VPN and ad-blocking extensions.
- If the status above says down, wait: reinstalling the app or resetting your password will not fix an outage on Azure's side.
Official status: Azure status by Microsoft.
How this check works
Every 5 minutes our own probes in Frankfurt am Main and New York request portal.azure.com over HTTPS. Any HTTP answer below 500 — even a sign-in page or a bot check — means the site is reachable; timeouts, DNS or TLS failures and 5xx errors count as failures. We call Azure down only when every location fails twice in a row. Our server in Moscow is not used for this verdict, so a block or slowdown in one country does not show up here as an outage.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Azure down for everyone or just me?
Look at the status at the top of this page: we request portal.azure.com every 5 minutes from Frankfurt am Main and New York. If every location fails, the problem is very likely on Azure's side and affects most users. If they all get an answer, the cause is most likely local — your connection, DNS, VPN, browser extensions or the app on your device.
Is there an official Azure status page?
Yes — Microsoft publishes Azure status at https://azure.status.microsoft/en-us/status. It reports incidents inside the service — sign-in, individual features, specific regions — that a reachability check like ours cannot see.
Azure loads but doesn't work — what should I do?
The public Azure status page lists only broad incidents; problems that affect your own subscriptions appear in Azure Service Health inside the portal. General steps: hard-reload the page (Ctrl+Shift+R, or Cmd+Shift+R on a Mac), sign out and back in, try another browser or the mobile app, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, and turn off VPN and ad-blocking extensions.
Why does Azure work in one place but not another?
Large services run from many data centres and networks. An incident can hit one region, one network provider or one CDN edge while the rest keep working. That is why we only call Azure down when our probes in Frankfurt am Main and New York all fail twice in a row — a failure in one place is shown as unconfirmed.
How often do you check Azure?
Every 5 minutes from Frankfurt am Main and New York. Since 20 Oct 2026 our probes have recorded 0 outages in which Azure was unreachable from every location. The list is on this page.
