UptimeRobot Alternative With SSL, DNS and Cron Checks on the Free Plan

• A bigger free plan. 50 monitors at a 5-minute interval against 10 on Enterno Scout. For many hobby sites that only need a basic up/down check, UptimeRobot gives more for nothing. Its pricing page positions Free for hobby and non-profit projects.
• Shorter intervals. 60 seconds on Solo, 30 seconds on Team and 15 seconds on Scale. The shortest Enterno interval is 1 min.
• Richer status pages and seats. Custom domain from Solo; white-label, password protection and subscriber emails from Team; login and notify seats; SMS and voice credits; a mobile app.
• Procurement paperwork. UptimeRobot states SOC 2 and GDPR compliance with a DPA available.

• Every check type on the free plan. SSL expiry, domain expiry, DNS, heartbeat, port, ping, API and keyword checks are all available on Scout. On UptimeRobot Free, SSL and domain expiry, DNS, heartbeat and API monitoring require Solo or higher.
• A Russian vantage point. Every Enterno monitor checks from Moscow; from Navigator you can add St. Petersburg, Germany, the Netherlands, US East and Singapore. UptimeRobot lists four regions for location-specific monitoring: North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
• Telegram and Slack alerts for free. Telegram, Slack, Discord and Teams are included on every plan, Scout too; on UptimeRobot, Slack and Telegram start with Solo.
• Diagnostics next to the monitor. When a check fails you can run the same host through the SSL checker or DNS lookup in the same account.

Both services have a free tier, and they are generous in different directions:

• Count of monitors. UptimeRobot Free: 50 at a 5-minute interval. Enterno Scout: 10 at 5 min. If all you need is a basic up/down check on many sites, UptimeRobot wins.
• Types of checks. UptimeRobot Free covers HTTP, port, ping and keyword. Enterno Scout adds SSL and domain expiry, DNS, heartbeat and API checks at no cost.
• Alerts. Both alert by email for free. Enterno also alerts to Telegram and Slack on every plan, while UptimeRobot puts Slack and Telegram on Solo.

A site that runs on one certificate, one DNS zone and a nightly backup job is usually better served by fewer monitors that cover all three.

• Dozens of hobby or non-profit sites, basic up/down only: UptimeRobot Free. Fifty monitors is hard to argue with.
• A few production sites where certificates, DNS and cron jobs matter: Enterno Scout, because those check types are not paywalled.
• Users in Russia, or an origin behind a Russian CDN: Enterno, for the Moscow vantage point on every monitor.
• Sub-minute checks, many seats, white-label status pages or a SOC 2 report for procurement: UptimeRobot Team or Scale.

Both have free tiers, so the cheapest test is to run the same three URLs on each for a week and compare alerts.

UptimeRobot includes its REST API on every plan, so you can list your monitors from a script or copy them from the dashboard. On the Enterno side, create each one through REST API v4 (one call per monitor) or add them in Monitors. Bulk CSV import with the columns url, check_type, name, interval_minutes, tags, note is available on Captain.

The interval is raised to your plan floor automatically. Uptime history does not move between services: keep the old account for a month if you need continuity in reports.
